For its comfort and its natural side
Rustic-Tac wooden watches are light and very comfortable. They are treated with a natural oil, no dye added. Thus, the watch is hypoallergenic and safe for your skin.

For its eco-responsible side
Rustic-Tac wooden watches are environmentally friendly because they are made from renewable resources: wood. They are made from recovered wood parts, carefully selected for their properties and durability. The watches are also assembled by hand.

For its originality
Rustic-Tac wooden watches have a timeless design. Your watch will be unique, impossible to find a model identical to yours. Each creation has its own color and grain, more or less dark, depending on the climate and the place where the wood comes from.

Rustic-Tac's wooden watches are splash-proof and can be worn in light rain without any problem. In fact, you don’t even need to remove them when you wash your hands. However, wearing your watch in the shower or while swimming is not recommended. Even though many models have a Water Resistant or 3ATM rating, they should not be submerged in water. The mechanical parts are protected but the wood tends to expand when it comes in contact with water.

Contrary to what we might think, wood is a solid material. If properly maintained, it can keep its original natural appearance for a very long time. It is also a naturally shock-resistant material.

Mechanical movement: this is a movement with a winding mechanism, a spring, gears. Some mechanical movements can be self-winding.

Quartz movement: a movement that uses a battery to power the vibration of a quartz crystal. A quartz movement can display the time either by hands (analog) or by liquid crystal (LCD). Depending on the type of movement, the accuracy varies:

Mechanical: 5 to 30 seconds per day

Mechanical automatic: more or less 2 to 4 minutes per month Quartz: 1 minute per year, more or less

This is always a tricky question to answer.
If you consider creation, design, and materials as all being parts of the manufacturing process, then our wooden watches are a sort of global collaboration.
Our founder, Jocelyn Brunette, is the creator, designer, and innovator of the vast majority of products offered at Rustic-Tac. However, some international suppliers and local artisans also contribute to our line of products.
The different types of wood we use come from Canada, Africa, India, and Asia. They have all been tested and treated, by our team, to withstand the harsh Quebec climate.
The mechanical parts for our watches are quartz based and come from Japan. Some are from Myota, and others are manufactured by Seiko. Both companies are renowned in the global watch market.
The cutting and assembly of these parts are done in Asia so that we may obtain the best possible production prices while maintaining our high standards of quality. The whole process is carried out in close partnership with our founder.
We are proud to say that ours is the only wooden watch repair shop in Quebec and that we can repair any wooden watch, regardless of the brand. In this same workshop, we also offer personalized engraving.

Our Types of Wood

Each type of wood has its own particularities: colors, grain, solidity and beauty.

Acacia: The acacia tree, or koa, is resistant to fungi and insects. Acacia wood is characterized by brown, red and gold tones. Origin : East Asia

Amaranth: Amaranth wood is extremely dense and waterproof, and thus very durable. When exposed, the wood takes on a deeper eggplant purple hue. Origin : Solomon Island

Bamboo: Bamboo has the advantages of being light, hollow and flexible. It is a long straight stem with regularly spaced nodes, light yellow in color. Origin : Far East

Ebony: Ebony is characterized by a dark, almost black color. Because of its dark color, the details of the material are often difficult to perceive. Origin : East Africa

Walnut: Walnut wood can be light or dark brown in color. Darker stripes also appear with regularity. Origin: North America

Olive: Olive wood comes from the fruit tree of the same name and is a strong, durable type of wood with a fine, uniform texture and natural luster. Origin: Southern Europe

Sandalwood: Sandalwood comes from several species that can be found around the world, each with its own color. Origin: South America and East Africa

Zebrano: Its wood is relatively soft, light ochre with dark brown streaks. It has a straight grain without knots. Origin : West Equatorial Africa

Rustic-Tac lenses are the perfect filter for most sunny situations. These sun lenses filter out 83 to 92% of the sun's rays, so you can count on excellent protection from the sun's rays and glare during most of your outdoor activities. Category 3 polarization is the highest allowed for driving.

Your order will be ready to ship within 48-72 business hours. Delivery standards vary depending on the item being shipped, the distance involved and the carrier's lead time. Please allow 3-4 business days for delivery. Please consider that in times of overload, an additional 24-48 hours will be considered acceptable. Rustic-Tac is not responsible for occasional delays that may be caused by carriers. You will have to pay the shipping charges to return your item if necessary. Shipping charges are not refundable.

A watch can be exchanged or refunded within 30 days from date of purchase. To qualify, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging and you must have your invoice to support it.

Only regular priced items can be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Our prices are subject to change without notice. But in the event of a major promotion (+20% difference), any purchase made 48 hours in advance, will be able to benefit from a RusticT-ac credit of the value of the difference between your purchase and the promotion price.

No refund or exchange is possible on items with personalized engraving.

No refunds or exchanges are possible on batteries. Shipping costs for returns and exchanges are the responsibility of the customer.
